A study by Imperial College London and the World Health Organization shows that South Korean women will be the first in the world to have an average life expectancy above 90. What is the secret? There are several factors, but diet is a primary consideration. The Korean diet is rich in vegetables and fermented foods, and exceptional attention is paid to creating harmonious and balanced meals that are both healthful and delicious. Join artist and epicure, Yun Gee Park, for a hands-on introduction to Korean cooking. Ms. Park will guide the class in preparing the traditional dish of kimchi. Typically fermented and somewhat spicy, several varieties of kimchi will be introduced to allow participants to create a recipe to match their tastes. Ingredients used are locally grown and/or organic, and kosher.
